With a history of no Test series victories in South Africa since 1992, Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, is gearing up for a decisive clash against the Proteas in the upcoming Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 26.
The Indian batters, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, were spotted honing their skills in a rigorous net session, aiming to break the 30-year-long drought.
Despite India taking an initial 1-0 lead in the last tour to South Africa, they ended up losing the series. Now, under Rohit Sharma's leadership, the Indian side is determined to reverse the trend. In preparation for the Test series, a video released by the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) showcased Indian players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravindra Jadeja practicing aggressive and defensive shots in both closed and open settings.
The 1st Test is scheduled for Centurion on Boxing Day, followed by the second Test at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on January 3.
